School Clubs

CAREER COUNSELLING CLUB  

Objectives:
Career Counselling Club has been set up to make students aware about the emerging career, help them identify careers best suited to their own strengths; and to promote creativity in career selection. It helps in making sure that the stream and career options chosen are in line with the student's aptitude. The Club is also trying to bring about a change in parental attitudes towards traditional careers. Traditionally, this club has had teacher members only.

Club Activities:              

  • Aptitude testing for senior classes.         
  • Conduct workshops for senior classes for options based on personality and interest.
  • Answering queries of students retrieved from the question drop box made available for students to pose their questions.               
  • Interaction with ex students/famous personalities in various fields.        
  • Guiding students with respect to examination stress, selection of subjects, careers and the like.                       

SCIENCE CLUB                

Objectives:
In view of the rapid to strides being made in the fields of science and technology, we have a fully functional Science Club. This club functions under the supervision and expert guidance of teachers, and broadly aims to inculcate an improve scientific temper amongst our students, promote scientific thinking and new ideas and enhance scientific awareness.

Club Activities:              

  • Regular visits to the National Science Centre.       
  • Attending lectures by eminent scientists.              
  • Organizing science exhibitions.  
  • Inter school participation at National and International levels for science based competitions.

ENTREPRENEUR’S CLUB

Objectives:
The entrepreneur's club aims to develop entrepreneurship qualities in children and imbibe a futuristic approach towards business. We aim to have our students learn the art of conceptualising, developing and managing their own business; besides how to manage funds on a day to day basis.

Club Activities:

  • Organizing School Fete.
  • Management of funds in various school activities.
  • Arranging for sponsorship/funds to conduct various  school events.

UN CLUB

Objectives:
The conferences organised by the club would encourage children to research, write and present their views on issues of universal concern. It would help them to develop an insight into the understanding of world problems in a simulated environment. It also helps the students to understand that a balance needs to be struck between national interests, regional loyalties and international harmony; and the importance of working together to ensure a win-win harmonious environment. On the whole, this club would greatly help our students to become the world citizens of tomorrow, which we envision them to be.

Club Activities:

  • Preparing students for participation in various Models of United Nations.
  • Organising and taking part in Mock South Asia Association of Regional Countries Conference.
  •  Raising awareness of international bodies in the School.
  •  Organising quizzes for all classes.
  •  Organising International Days (recognized by the UN) in the School.

DRAMATICS CLUB

Objectives:
A well rounded personality has several facets. All work and no play makes for a very dull person. Dramatics in the art of observation, dramatics facilitates improvisation. Dramatics helps our minds grow beyond the obvious. Performing arts occupy an important place in the educational arena of today. This club is a perfect platform for budding stage artists to nourish and groom their skills under the guidance of experts.

Club Activities:

  • Develop acting skills in children.
  • Build confidence in students to face audiences from the stage.
  •  Help use the medium of drama to spread social messages.
  •  Stage skits and street plays.
  •  Facilitate conduct of various events in the school to staging of plays skits and dramas.
  •  Inter school participation in such competitions. 

PUBLIC SPEAKING CLUB

Objectives:
Public speaking is an art every student must develop.  Public speaking helps to develop confidence among students, and enables them to be better prepared to take on leadership positions in future life.  To be confident leaders, efforts have to begin at primary level.  Hesitation and failure to present thoughts clearly is a prominent feature in today's child.  To bring up our students’ communication skills to global standards, the Public Speaking Club endeavours to bring about substantial change in oral communication skills amongst students.

Club Activities:

  • Debates.
  • Elocution.
  • Extempore debates and declamation.
  • Reading news headlines.
  • Impromptu storytelling.
  • Improvising lines.
  • Inter school participation at National and International levels for science based competitions.      

CYBER CLUB

Objectives:
Computers today form an integral part of our lives.  There's very little that we can do without computers.  Computers and computer chips are today embedded in just about everything that we use, from cars to washing machines, to watches and alarm clocks.  The cyber club aims to increase students’ awareness of computers and their uses in our daily life, with a view to prepare citizens of tomorrow who are better suited to deal with information technology.

Club Activities:

  • Provide computer support for all school events.
  • Help make presentations for various school functions.
  •  Increase awareness of computers amongst students.
  •  Make students aware of the uses of information technology with a view to better prepare him to handle information enabled devices tomorrow.
  •  Organise computer-based competitions.
  • Inter school participation at National and International levels for computer based competitions.         

ECO-CLUB
     

Objectives:
Sensitizing our young students to environment related issues is the main purpose of the School's Eco Club.    

Club Activities:               

  • Tree plantation drives.  
  • Organizing campaigns and rallies like 'Say no to Poly Bags', 'Say no to crackers', 'Save Water', 'Save Energy', and 'Green and Clean City'.  
  • Projects initiated and undertaken for eco friendly surroundings like Rain Water Harvesting. Project and regular maintenance of compost pits and green house in the school premises.  
  • Participation of students in various intra and inter school events.               
  • Interaction with other club members of different schools.
  • Participate in community activities related to ecology.     

THE ASTRONOMY CLUB
          
 
Objectives:
The Astronomy Club for students has been introduced with support from "Science Popularization Association of Communications and Educators" (SPACE) - a non government organization. The main aim is to inculcate scientific temper amongst students by introducing concepts of Science through a process of inquiry, experimentation and analysis so that they can relate their knowledge to their own environment. The young astronomers explore various night observations outside Delhi. Our budding astronomers also have the distinction of having discovered several asteroids; no mean feat for a student.     

Club Activities:              

  • Sky Observations, Computer Astronomy, Telescope Making, Asteroid Hunt.        
  • Designing/making of various Astronomy equipments/models like Sun Dial, Space Missions, etc.                 
  • Interactive Multimedia sessions.               
  • Writing papers/articles for science journals/magazines.                  
  • Participation in various National and International projects.          
  • Competitions on Astronomy at State, National and International levels.                
  • Interaction with National/International astronomers/scientists.                 
  • Interaction with club members of other schools.                
  • Developing an astronomy lab/observatory in the school.               
  • Visits to the Planetarium/Observatories.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH CLUB
           
Objectives:
The Community Outreach Club aims at helping students to develop and exercise a strong sense of social responsibility, through making an earnest endeavour to contribute to the less fortunate. This is done through a number of social welfare and community outreach activities.

Club Activities:

  • Collecting and disbursing charity in cash and kind to the underprivileged.     
  •  Facilitating education of the underprivileged, to include helping gain admission, arranging for books and uniforms and  conducting extra classes after school hours.                
  • Visiting locales in the vicinity to increase awareness of the needs of the underprivileged.              

  
MATHS CLUB

Objectives:
The Maths Club has been introduced with the aim of making Mathematics fun for students. It aims, through various activities, to help students grasp mathematical concepts better. Outcomes from this club are also ploughed back into the school math laboratory.

Club Activities:

  • Participation in Math Olympiads and other competitions.        
  •  Conduct of mathematics quizzes.        
  •  Study of various math based puzzles, software and games.                    
  • Developing models and aids to facilitate a better grasp of mathematical concepts.
