Overview

FIT INDIA Movement was launched on 29th August 2019 by the Honorable Prime Minister with a view to making fitness an integral part of our daily lives. The mission of the Movement is to bring about behavioural changes and move towards a more physically active lifestyle. Towards achieving this mission, Fit India proposes to undertake various initiatives and conduct events to achieve the following objectives:

  • To promote fitness as easy, fun and free.
  • To spread awareness on fitness and various physical activities that promote fitness through focused campaigns.
  • To encourage indigenous sports.
  • To make fitness reach every school, college/university, panchayat/village, etc.
  • To create a platform for citizens of India to share information, drive awareness and encourage sharing of personal fitness stories.

Indirapuram Public School celebrates the Fit India School week including Freedom Run and Cyclothon each year and contributes to building India a better and healthy nation.

@FitIndiaOff Indirapuram Public School celebrated the 3rd edition of “Fit India School Week” Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav from 1st December to 8th December 2021 which is dedicated to fitness with the objective to instil the importance of workout not only in students but also amongst their families, teachers and entire school staff. This week was considered as a flagship program of Fit India Mission.

On Day 1, we started off with FreeHand Exercises and Zumba in the morning assembly which helped students to enhance their hand-foot coordination, agility, and build up strength.

On Day 2, we conducted debates and lectures on the importance of Fitness and Nutrition. We also organised quizzes on indigenous games of India, essay writing on “My Fitness Mantra” and poster making on the theme of “Freedom from Sedentary Lifestyle” among students.

On Day 3, we organised indigenous sports of India, i.e., Kho-Kho, Tug of War, Lagori, etc., to make students aware of the old games of India.

On Day 4, we conducted a fitness session for teachers, parents and other staff members under SSR (School Social responsibility) to make our society physically as well as mentally healthy.

On Day 5, we started with Yoga and Pranayama followed by brain development games like Pyramid making, Ear Nose Touch Challenge, Chess etc., which help in increasing body awareness and creating mental clarity and calmness.

On day 6, students, teachers and all staff members took the pledge of fitness and promised to stay fit and also motivate others to perform physical activities on regular basis.
