Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB)

Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB)

It has been one of the government's major flagship programmes to promote cultural integration in the country as part of the vision to build a "New India by 2022." The Ministry of Education, Government of India, is the coordinating Ministry for these EBSB activities. These activities will not only increase students' knowledge of the partner state but will also foster a sense of community among students from the participating state/UT. These activities will help to shape our students into responsible citizens who believe in the country's unity in diversity.

The programme is aimed at students in grades 6 through 12. On a fundamental level, we began with their common phonetic and scientifically arranged alphabets and scripts, shared grammatical structures, origins and sources of vocabularies from Sanskrit and other classical languages, and rich inter-effects and differences.

As they learned about various languages spoken in the geographic region, the nature and structure of tribal languages, and how to speak phrases and sentences commonly spoken in every major language of India, as well as how to use the rich and uplifting literature of each (through suitable translations as required).

Such activities will give them a sense of India's unity as well as its beautiful cultural heritage and diversity and will serve as a wonderful icebreaker throughout their lives as they meet people from other parts of the country.
